12x12 layout : happy memories

Back on my blog today with a layout I created a little while ago. I used this cut file from The Cut Shoppe on Etsy which I backed with a 12x12 piece of patterned paper from Maggie Holmes. I love that there isn't a solid pattern through any of the plus signs. I adore using cut files as they bring a whole new look to a project but come together so quickly. It's perfect for when you feel like you're losing your scrapping mojo (or for me at least anyway.)

Crafty Boots : Life's a Beach Challenge

I am so excited to be joining the Crafty Boots design team. The current challenge on the blog is Life's a Beach. I am obsessed with being beside the sea, it's one of my 'happy places'. For this challenge I created a 12x12 layout.

Supplies : Dear Lizzy Woodland Thickers, Craft Market Tiny Word stickers by Crate Paper, Various ephemera from Notes & Things and Craft Market by Crate Paper, Paper Strips from Crate Paper 6x6 Maggie Holmes paper pad, Glitter Hearts by Seven Paper (Studio calico),  Whale flair by October Afternoon.

Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to head on over to the Crafty Boots blog and see what the rest of Design Team have created - we'd love for you to join us and see what you create.

Crafty Favourites : July

After being an avid watcher of beauty gurus on YouTube, one of my favourite types of videos is monthly favourites. I love looking at what other people love and that's what I want to start sharing on my blog. At the end of every month I hope to share 5 things I've been loving, that's all things crafty related. I can't believe we're on the 1st August already, here's what I've been loving throughout July.

Glossy Accents:

You can probably tell from the state the bottle that this is well-loved. It is perfect for sticking down tiny embellishments and it definitely sticks, I've never had any issues with it coming unstuck.
I've had this bottle from my card-making days which is well over a year and it's still not empty. I know this is such a boring favourite but this is definitely a staple at my craft desk.

Dear Lizzy Woodland Thickers:

These thickers from the Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy collection are just perfect for me. I love anything gold and these are just so nice. They're not too brassy or too pale and because they're foam backed they add a little bit of dimension to your projects. I'll be posting some layouts here on the blog soon using them. I think I need at least 3 more packets!

 Clearly Kelly stamps

I find all of the stamps from this line so versatile and I've used them on my Project Life pages, made filler cards with them and also used them on my 12x12 layouts. The outline Alpha set is perfect as it's not too large and with the outlines being stamped it leaves you space to colour in or use the filler stamps to stamp with a different coloured ink. I also have the 'No Comment' stamp set (not pictured) and I love the funny sayings. "Mama needs a cocktail" definitely has had a workout from that set.

    Tiny Word Stickers

Tiny word stickers are all the rage right now. Lots of companies are releasing them and I couldn't happier! I am obsessed. They're the perfect finishing touch when you just can't find the right embellishment for a page. Sometimes I like to leave journaling off my page and I find that these are a perfect way of telling more of the story without having to journal. My top favourite is the Crate Paper Craft Market ones (pictured on the far right.) That's my second sheet so far and because they're neutral tones I find that I can use them on anything and don't have to worry about the colour. If you don't have any of these in your stash I highly recommend you buy some, you will be hooked!

Citrus Twist Kits

I have recently signed up to the PL kit and I am so glad I did! Each kit is packed with embellishments, alphas, half of a 6x6 paper pad and a stamp each month. Pictured to the left is just a small peek at what you get in each monthly kit, if you want to see more I highly recommend you check out the Citrus Twist Kits website. For the PL kit it costs $19.95 and they also ship international. Also you can add extras to your box from the shop and they ship all together with your kit, perfect if you need to stock up.

I just want to add I am no way being paid or asked to write this - I am just so pleased with Citrus Twist and their customer service that I needed to share!

Disclaimer: All my favourites and views are my own, I have purchased them all with my own money and I do not receive any compensation from the companies mentioned.

Project Life : Week Thirteen

Yellow has always been one of those colours I've shied away from. As I've started to find my 'style' within Project Life I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone - and I love it! What I love about using the Design K pages is that it gives me chance to use up some of the paper pads from my stash instead of just hoarding them.

As I'm working through the weeks what really bothers me is my handwriting when I journal as it's not the neatest and it changes constantly. Although looking back at old photo albums my Mum used to keep I love looking for the writing on the back of the photographs, so maybe one day I'll learn to appreciate it, until then I should invest in a typewriter!

Supplies :  Design K Page Protector by Becky Higgins, All 3x4 cards/Title card /Alphas from Studio Calico, "Over it" stamped image from Clearly Kelly - No Comment stamp set, All 4x4 cards are random papers from my stash.

Project Life : Week Twelve

Week Twelve was filled with many hospital visits as my Grandad broke his hip. The fact is between work and going to see him there wasn't much to take photos of, however looking back at this spread it takes me right back to this week. This is why I've fallen in love with Project Life. For me, it's a personal diary as well as memory keeping. Just from looking at the photo of my shoes against the hospital floor, I know what was going on. As time goes on, I think I might add some secret journalling to this page.

These photos have been up for a while now in my SC gallery and I've only just noticed that the top middle photo is on an angle when I intended it to stay straight, weirdly I kind of like it.

Supplies : Design K page protector by Becky Higgins, 4x4 patterned papers are from scraps from my stash, all other cards/embellishments by Studio Calico, Tiny word stickers by Crate Paper, Arrow paperclip by Ikea (instore).

Project Life : Week Eight

Today I'm sharing Week 8 from my Project Life album. This was when I finally began to discover a 'style' I liked. I switched up my page protectors from Design A to Design K - I really recommend changing it up if you feel like you're stuck in a rut. In this spread was a week where nothing much happened, me and my boyfriend celebrated 3 years together and we had a very rainy trip out.

Supplies :   Design K Page protector by Becky Higgins, all pocket cards and embellishments by Studio Calico.
